Our Story

A new transformation calls for a new kind of agency

Since its launch at the start of the last century, NIVEA has held a special place in the public mind as an icon of Pflege (care). They have led innovation both in product and marketing, always engaging people with a focus on our shared humanity. Now, for the first time in over 100 years, they have selected a new partner for their next transformation. Publicis Groupe and Beiersdorf have created Publicis One Touch, a new breed of agency model based on agility and interdisciplinary design.

Here, client and agency talents work together in the same space, with shared passion and dedication. Together we are reshaping all NIVEA marketing activity for the future, from global product launches and social media presence, digital experience and campaigns, to data management and strategy, package design and events, along the entire customer journey. Fuelled by data, technology and human insight, creativity is at the heart and centre of everything we do, because it is with creativity that we will connect and engage with people.

Many disciplines, one community

Nothing defines a work space more than the spirit of the place. So we’re designing Publicis One Touch with a uniquely human touch, from personnel to processes, headquarters to hubs. Our office layout is made to encourage co-working, giving talents of many disciplines the spaces they can come together in with the equipment they need to inspire innovative and creating thinking.

Exceptional challenges require different thinking. Publicis One Touch is built on the strengths that only diversity provides. Our working teams are highly diverse, representing a wide range of disciplines, genders, origins, languages and skills. This maximises the benefits of collaboration, and also makes our office culture one where we learn more from each other, as professionals and as people. Creativity and an interdisciplinary approach are what allow us to find a solution where nobody expected.

Since not everyone works full weeks in the office, video conferencing and shared platforms give people the added freedom to do their job in their own way. They also act to unite us as a team globally. Our reach spans 40 markets, with regional hubs in New York, Sao Paulo, Cape Town, Dubai, Mumbai, Shanghai, Bangkok, Moscow and the Bieberhaus in Hamburg.

Andrea Pedrazzini

Hello, I’m Andrea. Before Publicis One Touch, I had the CEO role for Publicis Groupe Switzerland. There, I had the opportunity to pioneer the Publicis Groupe model, integrating agency capabilities from Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, MetaDesign, Zenith and Prodigious into one hub. Building interdisciplinary teams like this allows us to better
respond to current marketing needs.

I’m the proud father of two great kids, and also proud that my wife and I are successfully navigating dual careers.

I’m also a “Gender Champion.” That’s my title in the International Gender Champion Network, a United Nations organisation that works to break down gender barriers.

Birgit Wilson

Global Client Lead

Hi there, I’m Birgit. My passion is for managing teams on global brands - building them up and making them shine. With a German mother and an American father, I grew up in two cultures, bilingual and culturally sensitive. I think this has really served me well, professionally and personally.

I started my career in Chicago, touching on several accounts which marketed to women. In 2003, I moved to Frankfurt, where I’ve run several international accounts, managing their brand strategies and integrating marketing communications.

I have a husband and a daughter who everyone says is my mini-me.

James Griffiths

Programme Management Officer

Hi I’m James, and I’m the digital transformation specialist. My background is in strategic brand communications and general management. I’ve focused on leading clients through their transitions into the digital age.

I spent 22+ years at Saatchi & Saatchi, in several leadership positions on a raft of international accounts. We drove customer experience for them across all touchpoints, building their business and bringing in awards along the way. Having helped to integrate a digital agency acquisition, I led our clients’ shifts to a “digital first” approach.

I’ve also worked as consultant at a Marketing Transformation company, helping marketers to find the right agency ecosystem model, make their transformation, and win the future.

David Hackworthy

Global Strategic Lead

Hello there, I’m David, or just “Hack.” I lead strategic thinking across the Publicis Groupe network, now glad to dive deeper into the iconic NIVEA brand.

My education included degrees in both Law and Commerce. Then I began my career in brand management before going agency side in my homeland, Australia.

I moved to New York, and served as head of planning there at DMB&B, then as CSO at TBWA Chiat/Day. I co-founded an integrated creative agency called Red Brick Road, then joined Fallon. Along the way, I’ve gained extensive experience on many global brands, spending roughly equal time in the USA, the UK and Australia.

I’m also a devoted dad, surfer, and snowboarder.

Axel Grimald

Global Executive Creative Director

Hello, I’m Axel, the Global Executive Creative Director on Nivea. Originally from Paris, France. I started my career as an illustrator of children’s books and soon after I started moving around the globe.I have been working with brands across 3 continents for over 15 years.

From Paris to Beijing to Hong Kong to New York to Shanghai to Singapore and now Hamburg. From P&G to Walmart to Pernod Ricard to Ford to Unilever to Heineken and Nivea.

My work has been recognized in most local and international festivals, including Golds at Cannes Lions, One Show, DA&D, Clios, LIA, Spikes.

Stephanie Mylam

Global Implementation Lead

I’m Stephanie, hello. I've helped grease the wheels of many award-winning, innovative projects. An expert in creative production, new technology and technical delivery, I mix best business practices with a whole load of new-school delivery thinking, enabling
teams to create great work.

I’m passionate about simplicity and clarity in production; streamlining to simple ways of working that teams can easily adopt. I've implemented new agency structures covering every deliverable, helping to increase profitability, reduce expenditure and improve the creative product.

Recently, I established the production model for a global automotive account.

Nicolas Chemin

Global Client Finance Lead / CFO

Bonjour, I’m Nicolas. I’ve been the Finance Director since 2012 and have 15 years of leadership experience managing teams in IT, advertising and new media. I’m a steering board member and actively support in business operations and financial reviews. A problem-solver at heart, I excel at finding good solutions in complex international environments and am passionate about building long-lasting client relationships. I am also a big NIVEA Soft fan and have been for 26 years – ever since moving to Hamburg.

Norbert Knapp

Chief Commercial Officer

Hello, I’m Norbert. I’m a financial and operational expert with over 20 years’ experience as CFO for various Network agencies like DDB, McCann, DMB&B. My background is in
marketing – before I joined the advertising industry as CFO, I was Product Manager for American Express.

I’ve been with Publicis Germany for 8 years and am currently Chief Commercial Officer for both Publicis and Publicis One Touch. My responsibilities involve driving global client business development across multiple disciplines and markets as well as supporting our
business partners and contacts.
